To celebrate Seniors Week 2016, Grenfell Internet Centre ran 5 free computer classes with the aim of helping seniors better understand and use technology.

The subject for the final lesson of the week was ‘backups’. The participant’s learnt the importance of backups, including how to keep backups up-to-date and why you should have more than one backup.
We learnt how to use File History and the Windows Backup and Restore Centre for automatic backups. Both these tools are included in Windows. We also learnt how to manually backup important files onto a USB stick or external hard drive.

The classes were a little more advanced than previous years but participants were keen to learn – and weren’t too shy to ask any follow up questions. Positive feedback was received at the end of each session.
