Australian Government Mobile Service Centre

The Australian Government Mobile Service Centre will be visiting Grenfell on Tuesday 10th May 2016, from 10am to 3:30pm and will be located opposite the Library on the corner of Main & Forbes Streets.

Australian Government Mobile Service Centres travel to rural and regional communities to provide people who live in rural or regional areas with information and access to government services. They provide personalised face-to-face servicing to individuals and families who may not have easy access to a Department of Human Services office. The Mobile Service Centres are fully functioning offices outfitted with next G technology, satellite phones and internet connections, laptops and printers The Mobile Service Centres are equipped with:

  • a soundproof interview room
  • a soundproof Australian Hearing testing room
  • service/assistance desks
  • a waiting area
  • a publication display area
  • self- service computer access
  • LCD display screens
  • disabled access
  • wireless IT connectivity for greater servicing flexibility.

Mobile Service Centre staff provide information and assistance on a broad range of Australian Government payments and services such as Centrelink, Child Support and Medicare. We encourage the general public to visit us when we are in town to see how we may be able to help them.

A Social Worker and a representative from the Australian Taxation Office will also be available.

Grenfell Internet Centre also hosts a Human Services access point which can be used for the purpose of communicating with Human Services via phone, fax, and internet.

A photocopier, scanner, telephone, and fax machine is also available for these communications. This services is offered free of charge.
